What the NH34 adds
Time Module lists the NH34 with a central GMT hand, three hands and a date, 24 jewels, a stop-second device and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. These are movement features, not a promise about a finished watch’s case material, water resistance or delivered accuracy. The NH35 is a different movement: a product labeled GMT should not simply inherit NH35 specifications. How to read the GMT hand
Read the ordinary hour and minute hands against the usual dial. Read the additional GMT hand against the 24-hour scale. For example, a GMT indication of 18 means 18:00, or 6 p.m., in the time zone assigned to that hand. The minute hand supplies the minutes. Decide whether you want the extra hand to show home time or another reference, then set it using the instructions for your watch. Remember that daylight-saving changes may alter the difference between two cities.
Set the watch using its supplied instructions
Crown positions, crown locking and date-setting precautions matter. Use the operating instructions supplied with the watch and the manufacturer’s manual. Do not force a crown, change functions underwater or assume that instructions for a different GMT calibre are interchangeable. Ask us for help if the hand behavior or crown positions are unclear. Questions before ordering
Does a GMT watch measure elapsed seconds?
The GMT function is for another time zone. It is not the same function as a chronograph stopwatch.
Is a 24-hour bezel alone enough?
No. Check the movement and the actual additional-time display; a printed scale alone does not establish the function.
Do I need to change my GMT setting?
Check it when changing your reference city or when daylight-saving time changes the offset. Use your watch’s instructions for adjustment.
